Bridge to Bridge Race
The Bridge to Bridge Race has always been the "Blue Ribbon" event as far back as 1837. Mr Stratchan, a local wine merchant, used to sponsor the race, awarding the winner with a gold medal. The winner was also awarded the title of "The Champion of the Serpentine".
The first recorded result of the Bridge to Bridge race was in 1968, where F.Cavills won in a time of 18 minutes and 20 seconds. The current club champion Nick Adams' 2002 time was 12 minutes and 59 seconds.
